Did you ever notice who was and wasn't circumcised?
Did you mock the ones who were "different" than whatever the norm was where you grew up at that time?
Or would you have beaten up any guy caught looking at another guys penis in the locker room?

Oh I am asking because in the parenting area moms keep saying that they circ because they don't want their sons to be made fun of in the locker room.

Every guy I have ever asked says that they would have died rather than be caught checking out another man's penis.

So I thought what the general consensus is here.

Ok I don't circ, just for the record. I just linked to this from another question to prove that the "I don't want my son to get teased in the lockerroom" argument is BS.

If I was pro-circ why would I be questioning it?

One day we will give our baby boys equal protection under the law.

Thanks for being on the right side of the issue, in favor of keeping children's genitals intact. I just got the impression that you might have been on the fence about it and looking for some justification for the brutal practice. Have a nice day! Anyway, on to the original answer:

The last time I looked at another guy's penis was in kindergarden, when we went to the bathroom one day. I was at an all-black school, so none of the other boys were cut. I asked one of them why we were different, and he didn't know. Then, later, he came up to me and told me that his mom told him that I had been circumcised and that was why I was different. Nobody ever picked on me for it. And after that age of innocence, it was generally considered gay to look at other guys penises.

PLEASE do not circumcise any of your children. There is no valid reason to have it done in the first place. If your sons want to have it done for the sake of appearance (a horrible idea), THEY can choose to have it done at any time. The foreskin is a normal, healthy, erotic part of the body that grows to be about 15 square inches and is covered with about ten thousand nerve endings. It keeps the end of the penis moist, lubricated, and protected from irritation.

I sure wish my mom hadn't had me circumcised. The first time I mentioned it, she said she didn't want me to go through life with a penis "looking like THAT" -- an absurd reason. Later, after I told her that I am unhappy with her actions, she said that she did it because she didn't know how to care for the foreskin. Well, my answer to that is that she could have asked a doctor about it before having it amputated. Circumcision is mutilation, plain and simple. It should be banned, even for religious purposes. Female genital mutilation of all sorts (from a pin prick to removal of the clitoris) is strictly forbidden by law, but male genital mutilation is somehow explained away by ignorant people.

Now I am trying to restore my foreskin. There exist non-surgical techniques which can stretch the skin of the penis to resemble and function similar to a foreskin. It isn't the same as what was lost, but it is better than nothing. The process takes from one to three years. I really wish my mother had not taken it upon herself to have my body violated by some quack. I recommend you consider that circumcision is unnecessary, brutal, irreversible, and can be done at any age before you even think of having a child circumcised.

You do have a valid question. When I was in school, every guy was circumcised, so we didn't know any differently, and yes, everyone saw everyone when we were in the gym, or at the trough urinals, you were out there obvious.
Certainly now no woman should make the serious decision about whether to circ or not based on her child possibly getting teased or made fun of. That is silly--the current trend is not to circumcise, and apparently the rate is around 50% or just slightly above that. Therefore, about half the boys are not circumcised anyway, so this should not be a reason to mutilate a child. Most countries list it as a nonessential surgery, and in countries with universal health care it is usually not a covered procedure.

I am gay and I don't remember looking at anyone's penis... Probably because I was afraid I would get beat up for just looking at another guy. Proof of that, read some of the responses in here... Just cause you look at another guys body doesn't make you gay, now if you are trying to touch him, yeah that's pretty gay. But seriously no one in my school was really a looker, there were guys that would try to show their junk, but we all avoided them cause they were nasty jocks.

When I went to school you would have prefered gouging your own eyes out than look at another guys penis. My brother isn't circumcised and I don't believe anyone ever gave him a hard time about it.

My husband never looked or cared to look at others in the locker room. He is also very close with his mother and isn't mad at her for taking his foreskin away. Actually, he is quite thankful!
