You are never going to see that money again. Forget about it and move on. $20 is the price you had to pay to find out what kind of a person your so called friend is. Be glad she didn't take you in for more than that because if you let her she will. She owed you $20 and had the nerve to ask you to buy her something? That woman is a piece of work and everyone who comes in contact with her is going to end up a little poorer afterwards. You learn in life that you have to pick your battles. This means that you can't fight every single battle that life throws at you or you would get exhausted and not have energy for a really big battle. The amount of effort you would have to spend to get that $20 back from that thief would be staggering. It's just not worth it. Learn and move on.
