You go take your learners test, and pass that first, then you get some driving experience on a dump truck (or similar vehicle type) until you can drive safely and properly, then you go and take a driving test, and pass that. If all is done correctly you will then have a class "D" license. The length of time it takes is totally dependant upon how fast you can learn how to drive and pass the tests. The cost is $25 for the learners test and $45 for the driving test, and the drivers test should take about an hour or so, depending upon your instructor. Good luck with that. Do you already have an Ontario license, or are you coming from another province? It can be a real pain in the a** to switch licenses from one province to another here in ON-they obviously don't think they need any real drivers here!

if you already have a g licence then you just have to apply get a physical and pass the tests. getting an appointment for practical test may take months though

I would suggest calling the Drivers Liscense Department with your questions and they would be glad to answer them for you. I live in TN and I know it probably is different in other states.

I know you need driver training but you best call MTO for exact info.
