I have seem some of the answers, oh dear!
IT stands for Information Technology. Where ever you see words abbreviated to form mnemonics, especially in this day and age, you can work it out for yourself.

IFS.. Information systems.
They normally are created from the designer. so you will have titles like MIDIS, which was the main Police Command and Control system. That was initials Mac 'Designer' Donald's Information Systems. That has been super seeded by OASIS.
For my own reasons I will tell you that the last part means Information Systems. They are just a make up of words, normally ill thought, like Criminal Justice Department. CJD. Human form of Mad Cow Disease. There are many illustrations of Government Departments with such initials.
