It's 2/6. We don't have a lot of $$ so as much as I'd like to go somewhere, it won't happen. But I do have a history of not throwing very good parties for him (it's the middle of winter, cut me some slack) I want this year to be different!

My b/d is on the same day. I have celebrated it many ways thru the years, however I really do not like parties. My wife now leaves the decision up to me. My first choice is a dinner of my choice at home with her and our kids. Second choice is dinner at home with just the two of us. Third choice is the two of us going to a nice restaurant for an intimate dinner and drinks. When I do the restaurant dinner I do not want any singing, cakes etc.
Its my personal day and I like it private.
She prefers her be celebrated with people, parties, etc. And I do it for HER.

Check out a crazy cosmic bowl party. They are usually available from 9-12 you could even have bowling shirts made for his friends. Rent the rollerskating rink and provide cheap knee pads.
Is there a rec center or Y, have a swim party and serve summer food
Rent a limo and pick him up from work and take him to MacDonald's all dressed up in formal clothes
Have fun! be creative.

There are so many possiblities, Here's probably my favorite, just take variences of it to suit you, drop me a line if you need any more info. Greet him in a sexy maid/waitress/short dress outfit. Be sure to wear sexy underwear underneath, stockings, heels the whole nine yards. Prepare a candle light dinner (a lot of the following depends on how comfortable you think your husband is with it). My personal fantasy would be to have you greet me at the door, undress me, sit me down at the table, tie me to the chair and feed me. (if you don't think he will go for eating that way save it till later). After dinner I would want to have you do a strip tease while you whisper sexy nothings into my ear, planting teasing kisses and fondling. A real extra kick would be to tie up his equipment (very sexy) When you are done stripping, play with him for a while and the rest is up to you!!!!

Go to the shops buy some nice underwear get a bottle of wine. Have the bath ready with some nice relaxing oils and the two of u could have ur own party

Make him a very romantic dinner with his favorite food, light some yummy scented candles, give him a massage while dressed in your best nighty. Roll him over and give him a fabulous BJ in the middle of the massage and then give him the best, most passionate sex he's had in a very long time. (If you have kids, be sure to send them to the nearest baby-sitter so you can get crazy).

a quiet intimate dinner would be more than enough... so what if you can't cook nothing would taste better to me than a spam sandwich on wonder bread if it were accompanied by candlelight, soft music a good wine (or cold beer) served by "her" dressed only in an apron with a cupcake and a single candle for dessert. Not only memorable... but completely affordable.

It seems like a stay at home night is the answer, good meal, your favorite music, dance, soft lights. Give him a loving birthday card and while you dance tell him that he is your man and you love him very much. If this doesn't melt his heart well I don't know what will.

If you're not good at throwing parties, then ask what your husband would rather do.
I suggest a more romantic date with just the two of you. Something along the lines of a bj and a steak. It shouldn't cost that much, even if you go out to eat it.
Trust me, that'll get him smiling and happy.

Everyone is different but, for my part, I'd appreciate a nice meal, maybe a movie (DVD), some good lovin', and peace and quiet. Though not necessarily in that order.
