I have friends and family but nobody close! I have severe trust issues! I have been hurt repeatedly, so now to protect myself I dont let anyone in at all? Is this unhealthy!?

The price of NOT caring is that you abandon your humanity.
It does not feel like it at the time but the pain is worth it.

I used to do the same thing, essentially you turn your heart into a block of ice. It is the same thing as trusting no one which can become very unhealthy, it only creates feelings on utter loneliness and sucks the joy out things that would normally make you happy. You may get hurt, but it is unfair to the people who love you and to yourself to put your heart in a box.

I used to be the same way. You have to come to accept that your going to be hurt every once in a while. But you need to learn to cope with being hurt. You also need to know that not everyone is going to hurt you. If you don't let anyone in, how are you going to find that someone is who is going to care about you? If you don't trust someone, then talk to that person about why. Be open and best of all be honest with eachother.

Uncommon, no. Unhealthy, yes. EVERYBODY has been hurt by someone at one time or another. Break that wall down and get out there before it consumes you and you no longer can.
