Probably stands for United States Navy. Might be worth something if it is sterling silver.

It is from a United States Navy mess. I don't remember who made the ones I used. If it came from an officers mess then it maybe sterling silver. It would say so on it. It would be an item an old navy guy would buy, but as for value, I have no idea. If silver it would be worth the silver value in it. I have one around here some place.

i too have one of these spoons, it belonged to my brother, during the Korean war, he was a gunner on a battleship. I don't know if it has any monetary value, but for me, the value is priceless. it is with all of our family history, with a history page about the war, the ship he was on, and any pictures from his time in the navy, i have scrapbooked an album with.

funny,as I was just doing some research on the same thing but I have forks.they are very heavy and really have little value $1-2 dollars. if they are sterling, that's different and are clearly marked.
