In my opinion, it doesn't matter *why* they're gay. They are -- isn't that enough?
Why are some people kind and generous, while others are mean and greedy? Why is there such vast variation in the behavior of humans in EVERY area, not just sexuality? Could it be, perhaps, because we're all products of a combination of our genetics, upbringing, society, family, neighbors, experience, etc.?
I don't think it matters *why* anybody is the way they are, they just are that way. There is probably no one single "cause" for almost any aspect of human behavior. As long as somebody else's behavior in *any* area doesn't hurt me, why should I care what they do or how they do it?

My new theory is: it's as common as being left handed so I put them in the same category. The same genetic conditions that make people gay probably confer some kind of survival and community- building traits in those individuals that benefit humanity as a whole.
Now, being left handed AND gay, THAT would be weird. lol

I guess it would be the same as a straight person whats make you straight is that your attracted to the opposite sex what makes someone gay would be the same sex. your looking for a answer of why ? there is no why ....it just is

Just a quick thought experiment. If you honestly think gay people choose to be gay, then could you yourself make that choice?
See, I am straight, and could not CHOOSE to get arroused by another man. Gay sex just doesn't do it for me. So, since I can't choose that lifestyle, I just can't imagine or extrapolate that they could choose it. I personally think that gayness is either inside you or it's not.
So when one says they choose it, it seems that they are admitting that they themselves could choose to be gay. Sounds like someone might be in the closet? Hmmm....
Gay people are gay because of a physical impulse. It is because of the way their brain is wired.

individualism, and thats what the country was started on. Same reason why we are all different. White,Black ,Red ,Yellow, bLondes burnettes redhead, curl or staright, right handed or left handed, maybe no or 1 handed, does any of it really matter. we are all human.

i'm guessing that it is the next step in evolution towards an androgenous society because survival of the sexes is becoming increasingly difficult...skin color will eventually go away as well, and language will all be assimilated into one...just a few more years to go...

they are born with the attraction to the same sex. I don;t think anyone would CHOOSE to face a life of prejudice, ridicule, estrangement from family, or discrimination.,

I'm a happy person too.
Some people are born with pleasant dispositions and some aren't.
I can't believe so many people didn't get it.
