My wife and I got a divorce about 2 years ago. We have a 3 year old son. Since then I have moved out of the state (NY) and have been paying child support. I have not been a part of my son's life in over 2 years. Although, I love my son very much, I think that the best thing for all of us is for me to give up my parental rights. My ex agrees with me and wants this to get done. What do we need to do to make this happen, and what exactly does it mean?

Giving up parental rights means that u are no longer the childs parent... does she have someone to adopt the child? See an attorney and make sure that this is something you will not regret.

You realize that you are saying that you never want to be a part or have anything to do with your son until atleast the age of 18 when he can search you out if he so chooses? Sorry...that doesnt sound like love to me.

Never give up your rights. She can get more money out of you if you do that. And all decisions if anything ever happens to the kid will be made my her, you will have no say so.

your willing to give up your rights? what a loser he's your son and guess what he needs you more then ever but you are to selfish to realize that. i don't think any child is better without a parent just they live out of state. your a sorry excuse of a man, father, son, friend. of course she will say you should give your rights up but really think about. you must be a complete retard because you don't even know how to research the responsiblity of giving up your child. go **** yourself loser boy................

you'll regret this later in life and guess what he won't give you another chance. that's why men get a bad name is because of you **** balls. sorry *** loser. i bet you thought since you said you love him and pay child support that ppl will go easy on you. emotions, financial, mental, loving is what a father is. loser loser loser loser loser loser loser loser loser loser loser loser loser loser loser loser loser loser!!!!! life with that
