I believe that they did long ago, but a lot of people believe they're just myths. Science has given evidence that they did (or could have) existed. I know that just because I watched dragon shows on the History Channel or Animal Planet doesn't make me an expert or anything, but I think it's possible. What do y'all think?

Personally I believe that all myths have some basis in truth. I know that many people say that dragons could not have existed because they would have needed massive amounts of readily available meat. My response to that would be that they could have been omnivores or herbivores and survived on plants, fish, and wild game. When others ask about why we don't see any now my response is that they died out either due to being hunted, climate change or any other number of reasons why animals become extinct.

I think we tend to forget just what a devastating effect man has on the natural world, killing off plant and animal life without even thinking about it.

So yes I believe dragons did exist and I have yet to see a valid argument as to why they could not have existed.

I think that dragons did or could have existed its certainly plausible there are hundreds and hundreds of tales and accounts of dragons from all over the world with dozens of different types and styles but dragons all the same. Lets face it there are a lot stranger animals in the world today then the idea of a giant winged lizard that can breath fire and likes shiny objects.

they could have, but they didn't. Some myths are true and most are false. The dragon myth happened to be false. It was an illusion. A drogon was just a mistaken perception of a large bird, probably with visible flesh and was on earth many years ago. It also could hacve been a cross-bred animal of some kind or just a mutated bird. But you have to decide whether you believe it or not.

Considering that there are some sort of dragon legend in just about every culture in the world, I do believe that they existed in some form or another. Perhaps left over from the dinosaurs.

Of course they existed. It is only a dinosaur with so much oxygen un their body that it produces fire. As for the flying, scientists are now proving it true that dinosaurs of long ago are closely related to the birds of today, and besides, dinosaurs like the pterodactyl could fly anyway. There is a large possibility of their existence.

I believe they could have existed. I think it was some sort of dinosaur. The fire breathing part may be exaggerated. My theory is they may have had high body temperatures and when they breath it was very hot and that's where the fire breathing myth came from. But that's just my theory. I'm not an expert either. :)

the only way the existed is if when they die, it goes down like the movie Dragon Heart

their bodies disolve and their spirit becomes a star.

Where's the evidence that they existed?
Granted, everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but i always find it odd that people can believe in things when there is absolutely no evidence

i'm happy you've found something you're interested in though

I think everything must have existed long ago, like dragons and elves etc it's just evolution and man kind that wiped them all out - e.g. George and the Dragon why kill the dragon if they could talk???
I love watching things like that on Discovery! So cool ain't it!?

Dragons did exist. There is evidence. There giants and that could have been up 18ft tall. Entire cities were controlled by them. The city had to make sacrafices to these giants and dragons for protection from the them and there sibilings.

Not only could they have existed, they still do. The Komodo Dragon would be unhappy to learn he is a myth.
