I am 22 weeks pregnant with a"so far" healthy baby boy... he kicks me all the time! Anyways, Lately at least a few times a week, I get these sharp pains like cramps but painful that last about 30 seconds. This only happens one time during the day when it happens.... Does anyone know what and why this is?

it's probably braxtin hicks, witch are pre contractions you get around 5 mths. you will get them once in a while, they are to get you body ready for latter on when you deliver. don't worry having them is normal, it's doesn't mean you will have you baby early

I had the same problem with my 3rd child. He was sitting right on my ligament! It hurt so bad sometimes. I was about 22 weeks when it happened to me. I ended up going to the doctor and they told me to take it easy and put my feet up when I come home from work. Use heating pads and lay on your left side. Think positive and try not to worry. Before you know it your going to have a healthy happy baby! Congratulations on your pregnancy!

The baby might be shifting positions. I know it started happening to me at 9 weeks, these sharp pains and they told me that it was normal. do not worry. your baby is very healthy.

I'm also 22 weeks and I get these same pains. They are your ligaments and I believe our uterus may still be growing as well.

id say braxton hicks contractions but they are never usually painful, however mine have been so tight that it definitely was uncomfortable. these are just fake contractions its basically practice for your uterus nothing to worry about, of course tell your dr at your next visit but im sure they'll tell you the same thing

This could be because of muscle fatigue or dehydration. Why don't you try some time tested home remedies. I found this website very useful. http://aches.in/cramps.html
