YES! I'm an interior designer and I can't stress enough the importance of having a good business education. Depending on what it is exactly you would like to do, you will probably also have to study fashion design, but once you have the business degree you have the advantage of knowing which business strategies work and which ones don't. If you go to work for someone else, they will see the BA listed on your resume and will know you are serious about being successful and they will feel that your business sense will be an asset to their business. For instance, if you're talented but you know nothing about running a business, you could run you own or someone else's business into the ground. They say that 80% of all start up businesses fail within the first five years. My first five years were tough, I had no business background at all - self employment taxes about killed me! I had no idea how to set up a billing/invoicing system, no knowledge of what to do if I wasn't paid and often, no idea of what to charge! I survived only by staying small and working out of my home. Ten years later, I have learned a thing or two but it's not easy! If I were looking for partner or an employee, I would definitely opt for the one with talent AND a solid education in business! Good Luck
