eBay can be surprisingly reliable. One of my friends buys a lot of props for his movies off of there & my dad has been selling a lot of his old hamradio stuff on there. (And getting higher than expected bids too! wow!) The trick is that you have to pay close attention to the ratings of the seller. If they have good ratings then that shows that people are happy with them & they're trustworthy. If a seller has bad ratings, well, that just speaks for itself. Listen to what Seg advised about Paypal too. My filmmaker friend I mentioned sells his movies through his website he has & uses PayPal for the transactions because it's secure.

Ebay is safe if you follow a few simple rules.
1) NEVER SEND MONEY WESTERN UNION. Most WU transactions are scams and YOU WILL LOSE YOUR MONEY
Purchase your n72 from trusted sellers. Below are 3 sellersof mobile phones that are reliable and trusted and they are located in the US. Use paypal only, you will have buyer protection

Ebay = Safe...No Paypal = Not So Safe

I bought a cellphone on Ebay, but I'd definitely advise you to not purchase from anyone that doesn't allow the use of Paypal. The method you talk about sounds kind of shady to me, so I'd probably advise you against that seller. Paypal makes online buying safer though because if your product isn't received or has something wrong with it, you can get your money back. I even ended up getting $100 back on a camcorder because the guy couldn't come up with the warranty info that was part of the deal. So I'd say Ebay is safe and a good choice, just cover your back with Paypal and make sure you buy the phone that'll work with your network.

it is safe i bought my playstation 3 on their make you read everything before you buy read his feedback and my opinion never buy electronics from asia such as japan china or thialand i bought a psp battery that said it could nearly 3 than the original and it didnt work also ask the seller question about the product you want to buy and when you send a paypent the seller receives because it to paypal.com first the seller doesnt know credit card number because in order to ob ebay.com you need a paypal.com the seller receives the payment much faster rather than sendind a check or money order

We no longer purchase anything on Ebay.

We had a "power seller" that did not fulfill an order and then when we provided negative feedback after waiting over 30 days for either a refund or the delivery of the order, the "power seller" wrote us feedback that we not only had the product, but also got our money returned fraudulently.

Thank goodness we paid using PayPal as PayPal went after the "power seller." We wrote at least ten emails to Ebay asking that the untrue negative comments be removed and the "power seller" to be investigated as there were numerous other buyers that had similiar issues (based upon the feedback provided to the "power seller").

Ebay did absolutely NOTHING to help. Long story short, Ebay likes the money it makes, but good luck to you if you need their help.

yeah...ebay is defiantly good..but you have to check what they say for details..and you probably should check the sellers feedback...ive checked in the past..and some people have bad feedback and i wont buy from them..but if they are perfect and pictures look nice..and details are good..go for it! thats where i get my stuff...i can always count on ebay...but as for co8unterfeit...i usually never buy from outside this country..its just too complicated i think...but its worth a try...but look for anywhere closer..or in the U.S hope this helped
