1.You can have as many antivirus software as you wish. Make sure they're legal.
2. Having more than one AV software slows down the computer because each time you open a file, it has to be scanned by each of the resident scanners of the AV software.
3. Don't be under the misconception that having more AV software steps up security. This is because when a new virus on the loose, every AV-maker detects it and creates his own antivirus detection and removal code.
4. The headache of downloading updates: The toughest part, sort of like changing nappies of your twin babies.; Jokes aside; Each AV software has to be updated frequently guzzling down your internet connection.

Best to have just one. Two antivirus means more memory reserved for these programs running in the background (System Processes, Services), the startup will take longer and you also probably noticed that the OS is running a bit slower too.

On top of that, the OS will be twice as busy to perform regular updates and scanning.

Yes you can, but having two firewalls on your system can be a pain.

Since a lot of antivirus software like Notron Internet Security and McAfee Security Center have both AV and FW together, avoid combinations of those.

However, I have run many systems with either Norton or McAfee combined with a simple AV program like AVG from Grisoft.

Yes you can surely have two Avs on your pc.However it is not at all advisable. They would make a conflict and would cause lots of problems. So its better to have 1 and a good one.You can have Norton,Mcafee or windows one care Avs.

yes we can have,
It does not affect any thing in sys,

but the main thing is to configure each properly so as to avoid full use of the processor

eg : we can stop the auto monitor, That is to avoid files to auto upload for to monitor it every time

There is only one antivirus which you can use with any other antivirus program. It is called Clamwin . It is open source GPLed freeware available at sourceforge. And the reason why you can use it with other av programs is because it has no real time scanner. You have to run it manually whenever you want to check your HD for viruses.

Technically yeah but they usually conflict with each other, stick with just one. If you really want two make sure one doesn't do real time scanning, that should hopefully reduce conflicts but I doubt you actually need 2.

some antivirus provides online protection. this type service keep eye on your system. And some doesn't provide. If you install two antivirus having online protection they will make conflicts. If you have antivrus without online protection they won't make conflict.
