the famous rock groups of that time? Both shows were ONE WORD TITLES. Also, do you remember the "RESIDENT BAND" that each show had?

Both shows were on in the evening. No one person has BOTH bands right, but the two answers are right in front of you.

The two shows were Shindig and Hullabaloo. The Shindogs, originally called Shindiggers were the resident band for Shindig. Hullabaloo had as a resident "band" The Peter Matz Orchestra from the Carol Burnett Show. (I had to look this up)

One was "Shindig". the"resident band" was the "ShinDogs".One or two guys from that band became famous later on. The other was "Action" (originally, "Where The Action Is").It was a show that was on every afternoon after school produced by Dick Clark. The resident band was "Paul Revere and the Raiders". It came on just before "Dark Shadows".

Hulabaloo was one. With a female band.

That's all the one word one's I know of. Are you counting "the" as a word? I know of some with the in front of it. Like The Monkeys

Shindig and Hullabaloo, with the Hullabaloo Dancers. Both were on about the same time, mid 60's. With Hullabaloo on NBC, it was shown in COLOR! Shindig being on ABC, was in B/W.
