Actually I don't use rewritable. CD's are so cheap that I use regular CD's and save several copies of my backups. That way I have copies of older files that are no longer on my system hence no longer in my new backups.

That saved my bacon a couple months ago when I realized some data files were missing. They were not on my current backup but I found them on an older one.

Just buy CD-RW discs. They are re-writable.

But take note, they are usually slower burn speeds (often 4x MAX), and you will have to erase them in order to use them again.

So if speed is not an issue, use CD-RWs.

But CDs, one time burn CDS (CD-R) are so cheap now, just burn what you need, and throw it out.
