Use Lysol toilet bowl cleaner. Pour a bucket of water down the toilet to empty the water out of the bowl, pour the cleaner in, let it soak about ten minutes, scrub with brush then flush. Be careful not to get the cleaner on anything else, cause it Will eat a hole in it. Guarantee it comes clean.

I had the same problem. Step 1 is toilet cleaners. (You tried that already) Step 2 is "Brillo Pads/Steel Wool" Step 3 is what looks like a calcium/pumice rock about the size of a bar of soap that can be found in your supermarket. It is very tough and abrasive, and will take off all stains perfectly. It worked for me after step 1 and step 2 had no effect. (Step 4 is to go to Lowe's and buy a new toilet for $100, but I almost guarantee step 3 will work perfectly. Good luck!

I asked a similar question a last week. I have a housecleaning job and the house is a rental and sat empty for several months before being rented. There is a ring of blue on the inside of all of the toilets. Someone suggested using a car rubbing compound, like Mother's to see if it will work. I haven't tried it yet though.

I've got a really good one. Go to the janitorial supply store and get 23% HCL cleaner. This stuff is harsh. I used it for my restaurant toilets. It will eat anything off anything. Don't breathe the fumes. But it works like a charm!

Sno Bol made by Arm and Hammer.
Remove the water from the bowl then wipe Sno Bol all over the bowl, including under the rim. Let it stand for 10-15 minutes, then flush. You should do this at least once a month.

I would suggest concentrated hydro chloric acid or laundry bleach. Only caution is ventilate the area well. Just spray one of the above mentioned liquids and leave it for 10 mintues and then scrub it as normal and flush.
Good luck

There is a pumice stone especially for the toilet. I haven't seen them on the shelf at my local grocer so you may have to hunt for it. It will leave it like new. .. Promise...
