FYI, I do not make minimum wage, and I live in Boston, where a movie ticket can be $15.

There are many factors ,One movies are so bad now ,People just arent going in the numbers that used too. Movie Piracy is another factor ,People selling copy on the street are downloading . Nextflex and Blockbuster ,people just dont want to be bothered with going out when they can wait and watch it at there home . In my hometown,I just wait to the movie comes out on DVD and get it from the Library. These are all factors of why movie ticket are up . Make better movies and people will come . There hast really been a true Blockbuster movie that stays number one for weeks in years.

Minimum wage has not stayed the same and the paychecks of the movie theater workers are not the problem, it's when you pay someone $20 million to star in a 2 hour movie.

Minimum Wage is for uneducated people who probably shouldn't go to the movies. A movie ticket isn't that expensive especially when you go during the day and not at night with all the "cool" people. It cost a lot of money to make a movie and market it. Think about how much it cost to go to a sporting event or a music concert. A movie isn't that much. My answer? Change you're idea of how much money you need to make not how much more expensive things are getting.

Not much. Now you really have to research a movie to make sure you are not wasting your money. What is worse is that the regular commercials are getting longer and more annoying. These things should offset the cost the ticket.

it's not really the tickets that are expensive it's the darn popcorn and snack is where they get you. Here is in FL a matinee movie costs $5.50 and I think regular is $6.00. But go to the concession stand and you can't get away before spending like $25 or more....

That you PAY IT is what justifies it. I mean pure and simple. As to the reason the movies reason you could say the outrageous amount an actor/actress demands per movie.

Hollywood actors salaries. They get paid so much money it is ridiculous. You are better off buying the DVD's that you know you will watch again.

simply the fact that people pay the price. if no one was going they would have to lower the price. that's the way the market works.
