My favorite has been and will probably always be Kelly Clarkson... although I did really like Diana DiGarmo and still think it's a crock that she lost

I thought Season 1 was on the worst.... Kelly Clarkson was good but the guy, Justin who came in second was horrible... and just got voted through because a lot of girls thought he was cute....
the seasons after that seemed to have more to do with actual singing ability rather then looks....
I think the last season was the best... there were a lot of great singers in that group compared to other seasons....

Without a doubt, IMHO, season one! It was fresh & exciting & you really got into it! It was enthralling to see what Simon was gonna do next - (nowadays we already know he's a butthead!)
The people were so unique and interesting - Remember Ryan Starr, the "rocker-slutty chick? Or Nicky McKibben, redhead or purple or whatever! Off the top of my head - Kelly, Justin, Christina, AJ?, Tamira, --
But, wait! Now that I'm trying to remember these - I'm thinking of Kimberly Caldwell, Kimberly Locke, Reuben, Clay, ...hard to choose really...Bo Bice, Carrie Underwood...Fantasia, Diana, .....oh forget it - just lump 'em all together and call it a day! LOL

Season 5 was slamming with Chris Daughtry, Elliot Yamin, and Katherine McPhee... and Paris Bennett.

I think it was season 4 with Carrie, Bo and Constantine.

season one it was new and fresh and now people(the public) know what to look for in a singer/winner. now it's not as exciting as that season.
