In this 21st century that too in an educated family this is not expected.
Please convince your wouldbe's father about his fear that what's your affection and how good you will take care of her.
Any parent will have their own fear when marrying a daughter to a boy.
The best part is to discuss and get convinced. Hope you will succeed. All the best

Love is universal. It is no-where connected with caste, creed or religion. If both are willing, understanding, confide with each-other and above all acquired majorship.Think thrice before thrive that your's is not a passion, fascination or infactuation. If both confirm your's is a true love, then go ahead.Have the guts.Neither earth nor heaven can stop you.

If you really know what "love" is you would not make these statements.
Education, Earning potentials, etc have no relationship with love but only are indicative that once posessed of her you can take care of each other.

What da hell? This s*it still goes on? Aaarggh...u know what..If that gurl really loves, she should be able to stand up to her parents and say "no". You're allowed to love whoever u want;class has got nothing to do with this.

Although you haven't mentioned anything about her feelings for you, I shall presume that she loves you as dearly as you love her. In India caste and dowry have proved spoilers for a lot lovers' ultimate dream to become united forever through marriage. Yours is not the first instance and sadly will not be the last. And lots of people are aware of the misfortunes that befall lovers in similar situations. In using this forum you have made your problem known to numerous net users across the world. And like all of them, I share your concern genuinely and appeal to the girl's parents not to stand in the way of your marriage on caste considerations.

Show them every where around the world that there is no such thing as a caste system! Or request time to prove them your love to her!
Hope it helps.
