You need a TV Licence to use any television receiving equipment such as a TV set, set-top boxes, video or DVD recorders, computers or mobile phones to watch or record TV programmes as they are being shown on TV.

If your PC doesn't cater for watching tv, it doesn't matter. If you already have a TV licence at home, it will cover.

You only need a TV Licence for your PC if you are watching Live stream TV. If you are only watching programs that have already been on TV then no. This also applies to the New Mobile Phoens that have live stream TV.

hi...this is where the UK broadcasting laws fall over...because...

if you have a PC 'with' a tv/audio card fitted then....'YES'

but if you watch tv on your PC, as you can 'without' a tv/audio card fitted then....'NO'...because you can stream live satellite tv and tv progs direct to your PC...and the UK law is, 'that the electronic equipment being utilised to watch the media of television is fitted with a tuner or tv card'....'and therefore a license is a requirement'.
