I'm guessing that you have no oil in the crankcase and you have engine damage. Contact the oil change place and ask them what they want to do about it. I'm guessing the sump plug is missing along with all of your oil, or they didn't check to make sure there was a gasket on the oil filter or they didn't get the old gasket off when they removed the old filter. This can be a tough one. You might want to have an independent mechanic - perhaps your Volvo dealer check out what happened. Whatever you do, don't start the engine again until you find out what happened. Make sure the mechanic is trustworthy and certified. They may end up in court testifying for you. Second thing, is to document everything your do, every conversation you have with anyone and everyone. Every invoice. Every written note. If the oil change place made a mistake and they don't man up and pay for the damage, you will end up in court where the best documentation often wins.

Take a short piece of wire and create a jumper to go between pins 7 and 10 if your car is equipped with the 20 pin connection and you have an E30 series bmw. Once the connection is made turn the key to the on/run position (do NOT turn it to the start position) and wait for the inspection and oil service lights to go out. (the red and the yellow) and immediately turn the key to the off position, remove the jumper, replace the 20 pin cover and start the car normally.

there is a electrical connection under the bonnet which needs to be unplgged and then you need to connect a special too to it and then there is a sequence of turning ignition on and off whhile having the door open, its a load of crap really. I had 3 different BMW 3 series cars and all of them had the sevice lights comiing on for as long as i owned them without any problems. I wouldnt worry about it if i were you.

Depends on what year but most need a scanner to reset them. You may have to go to a dealer or a repair shop that has the scan tool to do it .Not some thing you can do by yourself without buying a 300 buck tool

If you can't figure it out and can't afford to take it back to the dealer, you shouldn't be driving a beamer. European cars are extremely high maintenance. If you're not mechanicaly inclined and aren't wealthy enough to finance a mechanics Caribeen cruise, don't buy a Eruo car.
