Your definition of what a "good" college may be different from what other people consider to be "good" colleges. You may be interested in schools that are heavily involved in fraternities/sororities, sports, certain areas of studies, etc. You may want to check out the U.S. News and World Report for a better idea of what college is right for you.
There's also a website that provides comparisons netween different colleges and universities.
The first two links provide websites to the best colleges based on your interests.
The third link is a comparison website so you can see how well colleges do against each other.
You can also go to your local library and look for the Princeton Review book of over 350 colleges and universities. I bought that book a while ago and it really helped me pick out what schools I might be interested in. The U.S. News and World Report is also an excellent source, you can check them out at your local library too but check out their websites because they are free and believe me, college is going to cost A LOT of money so anything you can get for free is good.

My advice...pick the best public school that is in your home state that you can get into. Tuition is a real bargin with in state rates. Also consider selecting a school with a traditionally excellent Football and Basketball team because these schools have an energized Alumni base which makes your school relationship a lifetime relationship if you're a fan.

In KY there are several: University of Kentucky (GO BIG BLUE!!), Eastern KY University, Morehead University, & Berea College
