His name was Theodore Suess Geisel. He wrote books under the name of Theodore LeSieg (which is Geisel spelled backwards). He was not actually a doctor at all, just used that in his pen name at a tribute to his father (who wanted him to be a doctor).

He's dead. His real name was Theodore Geisel (sp?). He wrote over 200 childrens books. He was an Aquarius.
