While the Gutenberg Bible was the oldest book mechanically printed (c.1455), books were made before that process was invented. Printing off of hand carved wood blocks dates back to c.704 AD in Korea. Writing on papyrus goes back a very long time, but the older ones have not survived. Texts cut into clay and fired into ceramics date back to c.3500 BC in Sumeria.

They were Chinese and made of bamboo paper. The Bamboo was washed and pulped and a large mesh screen was lowered in to the vat. When it was lifted up a very thin layer was left, this was dried and made the first paper. The first book was Chinese as I said although I can't remember the topic, it was certainly 2 or 3 hundred years B.C.
Hope that helps, good luck.

The Bible...made various ways... and it's all about God.........PS Maybe next time you should take time to research your schoolwork rather than waiting until the last minute. Would save you a lot of stress. I've been there myself quite a bit.
