A house becomes a home when you do some or all of these things there:

Hang all of your pictures.
Light a candle.
Share a meal with a group of friends.
Pass four seasons under its roof.
Cry inconsolable tears.
Laugh till you cry.
Argue with your lover, then make up.
Make passionate love.
Share secret confidences.
Hear a door close with a final farewell.
Open a door to a joyous welcome.

When a place -- no matter how small or large, however humble or grand -- leaves these indelible marks on your heart, then it is home.

When you don't sleep alone in it, whether you're single, committed or married. Pets don't count and must sleep with you in the same bed. Singles are required to have at least 12 different partners per year (one new per month...remember you're searching for that perfect one). A super home is you're single and do this for many, many years. Material things no matter how personal do not make a house a home.

A house becomes a home when you add your special touches to it.Maybe you paint the walls a new color or go crazy and do a mural, hey it's your's do what you want! You add some new curtains or do a new garden or walkway in the back. Adding your new special touches to your house makes it your home. Good luck to you with your new home.

When you can't wait to go back to the house, put the tv on, grab a beer or a cuppa and chill out on the sofa. Thats what i think home is.....

Used to think it was a build up of memorys but we were in our new house 5 days and we already classed it as 'home' :-)

When you feel safe, secure and comfortable there. It helps when you get all your stuff around you - your favourite pictures and photos up, decorate it how you want it, personally I like having plants all over the place. I feel the most content when I am chiling at home - especially when I have done all the housework and it looks lovely (weirdly I quite like doing housework though - freaky)

We always when starting in a new house, feel it becomes your home when you have had your lst christmas in it. Then you start building memories, of good times. But my Grand-mother always said "Home is where you can take all your clothes off and have a good scratch"...........!!!

When you've installed a fridge, filled it with beer, then had your friends round for a house warming party.

when it becomes in essence a part of you , when your personality has shaped it and your memories revolve around it and you can retreat to it in a similar fashion as you might retreat into yourself when you are without a home .
