I'm sure this is probably over generalization but...
In general, people are selfish and don't care about anyone but themselves. They do whatever they please at the expense of others eventhough they know they are in the wrong. For example the woman you mentioned in your question, taking a handicapped space when she shouldn't have because she didn't want to walk very far. I hope the guy in the wheelchair reported her and had her car towed.

Oh how I agree with you. So many people nowadays are rude, abrupt and aggressive, both in language and actions. I wish we could return to being polite and considerate. I try to practise this daily and very often find that if rudeness is met with politeness it does very often change the person's attitude. I think a lot of people are on the defensive to start off with and the rudeness is part of that.
At least there are two polite people left - you and I

Why? The culture, or lack of it in our society. We have no respect for other people now and it sickens me. My parents live in Spain, you go out there at night and the old are mixing with the young, everyones having a laugh. Here in certain places, you get yobs pissed up showing there private parts.
Britian needs a good kick up the back side.
We used to have finishing schools, now we need starting schools!

A lot of times, I have noted that a lot of "cripples" (your word - not mine) already have a bad outlook on life and already have a victim mentality so they tend to over react rudely at the slightest perceived hint of a personal attack coming. If you f*cked up and got ran over by a semi, it's not my fault and I surely do not automatically owe you anything (not even that cushy parking spot in the front, etc, etc.)

because when i was growing up being rude would very likely get me a smack in the ear and if i went home and complained i would very probably get a smack in the other one , nowadays kids can push someone in a wheelchair in front of a bus and then have him arrested for spoiling there fun by dying . apparently the government thinks this makes for a better world ?

not just the young ones, i was looking at a newspaper stand the other day with my 10 yr old daughter when this old lady pushes my daughter out the way and grabs a paper, i say "hello, there's no need for that, excuse me wouldn't go amiss, just because she's a kid" the old bat just glowered at us and stormed off, not a word. that's where a lot of the youngsters get it from.

I agree... and nor do I understand why people have to be so darn rude... I guess we can blame it on how society and the media as well as all of our surroundings are changing, and people are being more expressive of their opinions and feelings, in a more rude-than-ever fashion. It is quite depressing, because think.... what is it going to be like 20 years from NOW! Is it possible to think of more rude statements??????????????????

She'd better watch her *** because she could end up a "f****ng cripple" just like that man in the wheelchair. I never, ever curse handicapped, instead, I count my blessings and THANK GOD I can walk unaided. Even if they are rude to me...

The world is in a sad state right now. Kids are being raised to not respect their elders, and this is the leading contributor.
