It depends on what you are going to use it for.

I chose a PSP over an iPod Video because I mainly use it for 4 things: music, movies, games and Internet access.

If you are going to use the device purely for music, I would go with an iPod. I can live with iTunes and would choose it over the screwed-up file transfer system that Sony has limited the PSP to. It is also much easier to navigate through albums, songs, artists, etc with an iPod. The PSP does not support multiple folders for music. You cannot place several albums in an artist folder. If you attempt to do this, it confuses the PSP and the device will not be able to locate your files for playback.

If you will be using it for both music and video, I would go with a PSP. Although the iPod rules in terms of capacity, watching videos on such a small screen can be quite difficult and disappointing. Thus, I chose a PSP and just purchased a 4GB memory stick duo.

If you are a gamer, I would definitely go for a PSP. Other than being able to buy UMD games, if you have a PS3, you can connect to the PS Store online, connect your PSP to your PS3 and download thousands of PSOne games for a reasonable price.

Another reason I chose the PSP? It's got Wi-fi which allows me to connect to the Internet wirelessly and check my email through my browser at any public Wi-Fi zone. This feature comes in very handy when traveling.

The PSP can do many things that an iPod cannot. You just have to be resourceful and patient. Once you get the hang of it, you will not regret your decision. But, again, as I said, if you are going to use it just to play music, go for the iPod.

An Ipod, PSP's are going down in value. If you would like to get a better gaming console that is portable get a DS. Also, PSP's memory card only hold 32 MB which is a totally rip off knowing that a camera memory card is 2 times smaller and can hold 20 times more. Other than that, Ipod's have the ability to hold full length movies just from downloading them and they can do the whole "music" thing too. PSP's can get movies, but you have to buy them. Overall an Ipod is a better valued piece of machinery.

They both do different things.

If you want to have portable gaming capabilities and dont care too much about music, or if you can live with only a few gigs of music, get a PSP.

If you are more about the music and movies, don't care about gaming, get an iPod.

Keep in mind, things purchased off iTunes will not work on a PSP (not without some converting).

Also, the PSP works with your Playstation 3 if you have one.

Def. the classic plus a psp. you somewhat in basic terms want the ipod for the music, right? With the psp, then you definately can play a ton of video games, plus have your music. The ipod contact isn't that giant.

It depends on your goal. Yes, you can put MP3s on a PSP, but your limited by the memory card you buy.
The Zune / iPod / Creative Zen have hard drive models.
Do yourself a favor and get at least a 20gb or larger hard drive.
If you want a game system, the PSP is nice. But since there is no HD, its limited.
