I bought a home theater system off ebay,a month ago,i have never recieved my item,the seller keeps telling me that he shipped it without tracking number!!!!and stoped communicat with me,when i report to Paypal,they said oh wait untill you hear from a seller!!!! or file for claim when i did.They say you might not be able to get all your money back!!!!! is it easy to be a scamer if it is i can start scamming people on ebay,at least i will get some money out of it,since Pay pal dont give you the full refund,like they say when you pay...your purshase is 1000$ protected...bull ****. Do you have any suggestion?

This happened with my brother and he was duped out of $3,000.
They reported it to Ebay, then to PayPal, and then the authorities.
The FBI investigated and just recently found the jerk.
The guy was a scam artist and ended up being arrested and put in jail.

If the seller does not have all the $$ in his paypal account, then you wont get it all back. At that point, paypal will suspend his account till he pays up...or, he can create a new paypal account under a different bank account and continue on. Usually scammers DO this all the time cause they have the time to sit in front of their computer doing nothing. The only thing you can do is file a claim with paypal and, in the future, try to pay with a CREDIT CARD and then at least your cc company will offer you chargeback protection in this case. I was scammed as well but for only $45. The seller went bankrupt and just open a new eBay account a few days later and started again.

i have tried almost a year to get the item i paid for.they said they never received payment,but i have a cancelled,dated check with their signature!they wont email me,pick up the phone or send me the item.once,they said it was on "back order" and promised to ship it,they never did.about 3 months ago they finally emailed and had me fill out a form to get my money back,but it was never given back,and they have stopped replying to me again.ebay says its too late for them to help,but said i should report them for 2 things-business fraud and internet fraud.if u explain the situation to ebay,they will send u a "how to" email about how to report fraud.im going to do it.u might wish to consider it too.i havent ebayed since last april and never will again! several times,it took months of pleading and/or threats to get the items i promptly paid for,never again!dont be a scammer ,tho.i understand ur frustration,but scammers can be reported to the better business bureau and their local police,as ebay advised me to do.u dont want a record or something ,its not worth it.just report them,dont ebay anymore and chalk it up to experience.dont hurt urself as well.
