Lolli,
It is not easy. Just stop and occupy your mind. I quit in 84. I had to distance myself from other smokers, i quit drinking, quit with coffee. all things associated. Everytime you get the urge, think abouthow much better you will feel and how you will smell everything!! I will be pulling for you!!!

SMOKING is a very hard addiction to quit. they say its worse that a heroin addict trying to quit using. I've been a smoker for 30 years and both of my parents died of lung cancer!!! If it was a easy thing to do I would have quit... I figured I would rather die of cancer than spend the rest of my life in jail on manslaughter charges because EVERY time I have tried to quit I felt like I could kill someone so if your young and not been smoking too many years PLEASE stop because the longer you smoke the harder it is to quit!!! good luck and NO don't Rollerblade into that tree!

awww i feel for you.. im going throough the same thing.
did you know that the craving only lasts for a few minutes? so what i do is everytime i get a craving i get up and do some dusting or something else so im taking my mind off it.
do u miss having a ciggy in your hand? its more of a comfort thing. try and find something to do with your hands. i took up knitting (ill never run out of scarves now lol). but u cud do a crossword or something like that.
there is the habbit of putting it to your mouth as well.... ive chewed so many pens and even my knitting needles lol. i was scared of gaining weight thru eating rather than putting a ciggy to my mouth but instead i chew gum.
try all these things and also see your doctor as he can give u patches and nicotine gum to help the cravings (tho i found these didnt work for myself). everyone is different tho
good luck xxxx

You've got to want it bad enough. I quit six years ago, mainly because I can't stand the stench of it. I still have bouts of cravings..not so bad..but if I smell it on someone else, that takes the cravings away.

You can't quit because you have not had the fear of death close enough to you (yet).
But rest assured, it will come and when it comes knocking or when you end up in the hospital, you'll quit.

Gave up on the idea of stopping.
Just enjoy my "fags"

No you shouldn't end it all. Quitting is hard, just find what works for you.
