Depending on what kind of help your cousin needs... I'd just tell the cousin you have plans for that evening and that you would be glad to help earlier in the day of your date or on another day.
Unless it is life or death problem with your cousin they should understand.

I'm older, so I would say help the cousin....the guy might turn out to be not nice....
