We've been entertained by the television now for 50 plus years with no replacement in site for it. We have other entertainment avenues such as computers, vhs and dvds. But nothing to replace the idiot box in your living room. What do you think will replace it and how long do you think it will be till it happens?

They make a projector type deal now. You hook up your DVD player, game system, cable, etc to it, and it projects the images onto the wall. The projector is pretty small and hangs up in the corner of the room, or you can sit it on a small table. The cheapest one I have seen is about $300, but the picture is kinda blurry (I'm sure that could have been fixed in the settings) and it has to be a dark room to see the picture, but it is still a neat little device. I'm sure in time they will make it a better product.

I believe a type of virtual reality will occur within the next 50 years. An interactive unit that takes us into the action itself.

I don't remember where I saw it but there is a prototype fro a 3D television (Imagine Princess Leia being transmitted from R2D2)

After that, I predict two free-standing towers with a TV image being projected between them using ambient gas as the screen.
