So as to have two greats in his name. Also some people don't know the meaning of Akbar. The others don't know the meaning of Great. Bilingual naming helps. Its something like having movie titles like: Killer- ek khooni and Yoddha- the warrior.

The son born to Humayun was named as Jalaludin Mohammad. After Humayun, he became the king and successfully defeated all of enemies and declared himself to great one. Arabic word for this is "akbar" thus he became Jalalludin Mohammad "Akbar". Indian historians call Akbar the great, In fact this means Great the great. This is laughable.
