I had heard great things about zoysia grass and was wondering if anyone has this in their lawn and is it as great as it is presented to be?

People are selling it nowadays, but I have never seen a lawn of it growing successfully over a long period of time. It is not the temperatures, nor the salt air; Zoysia grows well in Puerto Rico and in the Northeast US too. I suspect it is either the sandy soils or a prevalence of destructive insects like Ground Pearls. Puerto Rico has vocanic soils, not sandy. And St Augustine does not thrive there. I recommend St Augustine Grass for Florida if you want a handsome lawn. If economy and relative ease of care is your goal, seed or sod Bahia Grass. In north Florida you have one other good option: Centipede Grass.

Without knowing where in Florida you are living, this is a difficult question to answer. I am a professional Property Manager in South Florida and I truely have not had great results with anything other than St. Augustine Grass or Bermuda Grass, and I don't much like the Bermuda.
