i am visiting prague soon. is the 20 kc coin and 50 kc coin the exact same as the 20kc and 50kc notes? if so why do they have coins and notes for the same amount?

The Czech republic stopped printing 20 and 50 Kc banknotes in about 2001. The banknotes are still valid but seldom seen. The coins (yes, they have the same value) are much more common.

Interesting question - don't know. But they have the same amout and you won't see the 50 Kc coin too often, there is just couple thousants of them. Enjoy Prague, I really miss it!

I don't know why they have coins and notes for the same amount but they are the same in value.
Prague is a beautiful - and cheap - city - so enjoy!

Yep they have 20 & 50 Czech Crown's in coins as well as notes ...
There's no spl reason for keeping both coins and notes ... Its just a matter of taste wat u prefer ....
