Don’t you understand we need a 2 party system to keep things in balance?
You can not be liberal with funds and still keep a country running.
Because you hate war, you’re not thinking rationally. On September 12th, everyone in this country was ready to get a gun and go to war.
Although there is no "direct" connection between Sept. 11th and Iraq, you must remember, Iraq would not allow the UN to inspect in certain parts of the country. They were giving warning after warning after warning. We took out many sick twisted people.
By withdrawing from Iraq now would null the efforts of our soldiers and make the lives that were lost meaningless.
John Kerry and the Dems saw the same intelligence that President Bush did. They all said lets go!
So, those of you calling for an impeachment of President Bush, please write your senator or congressman that said go and ask them to resign or you will vote to have them impeached.
I love my country and I support my President whether their name i

"I love my country and I support my President whether their name"

That's a dangerous proposition, my friend. Because what makes America great is that we can disagree, we can question, and we can protest if need be. You can't blindly follow leaders; that's what leads to despotism.
And I appreciate your viewpoint on Iraq. I would say that us staying there as we are is doing more harm than good, and escallation would merely put more American lives at risk to somehow contain what is really a civil war (and not a terrorist guerilla war). I heard a quote from one officer say something like "Pretty soon, we won't know who to shoot at."
And I apprecaite that this country was ready to go to war on Sept. 12th, but really only against those who perpetrated the attack -- i.e. al Qaeda and the Taliban who provided material support in Afghanistan. And guess what -- we did go there, and our invasion was (mostly) successful. But our progress was impeded largely because we had to go to Iraq.
And yes, our senators saw some of the same intelligence the president did, but remember that it was filtered by the White House, and presented to both Congress and the American People in a much stronger way than was true. And it was Bush's "preemptive war" doctrine that really got us in Iraq. And Saddam DID largely open up his country to U.N. inspectors; we just didn't believe that there was nothing there. And if we did believe that something was there, there were certainly other methods for exterminating any WMDs--targeted air strikes, special forces campaigns, etc., rather than a full-scale invasion, occupation, reconstruction, and taking responsibility for putting in a new puppet government.

I appreciate your viewpoint, though. And Congress was certainly to blame for not taking a closer look prior to authorizing military action. (They didn't ALL say "let's go" but a majority did.) And that is their fault. But that doesn't make Bush's either outright deception or gross negligence as to the truth more excusable.

I don't know what "hate" you're talking about. I do know that on Yahoo Answers, for every irrational, cynical post I see from democrats I see 2 from republicans (on the list right above your post I saw one that said that Nancy Pelosi "hates children"...) I agree that for some reason the people here, and the pundits on TV, love spreading around their venomous rhetoric for whatever reason (I guess it makes them more secure in their views to demonize the other side, calling them baby killers, or commies, or fascists, or whatever). But it's not just the democrats. (See the comment above, where one person said that the UN had full access, and the other disagreed... the pro-invasion opinion writer finished with "It's ignorance like yours that supports the enemy. " What? How is that "supporting the enemy"? That's disagreeing over a fact and its import in determining whether our leader made a correct decision. What supports the enemy is blindly following what the executive says, giving over all of our freedoms, and being led off a cliff like lemmings...)

And when a party sweeps into office with such a mandate, you've got to expect SOME changes--that's why they're there. And I think we've all learned from this Iraq quagmire -- Congress is going to examine any military action with more oversight; the President must be much more sure about intelligence; any president cannot be so haughty. And we should all do a little less talking and a little more listening.

Of course we need a two party system, thats why it was a good thing that the dems got control of Congress.

LIberal with funds? That is funny, the Republican President and Congress took a surplus and turned it into a huge deficit, or didn't you notice that.

Prior to the invasion, Saddam had let the inspectors back in, and he was destroyinng missles, why not let them fininsh the job instead of creating the mess in is now over there?

The Congress DID NOT see the same intellegence that the Administration had and the Resolution to use force said only as a last resort.

I am not calling for anyone's impeachment, yet.

if you love this country they why don't you respect the right for people to have their own opinions?
have you not noticed that over half of the country does not support the war in Iraq?
i do agree that the calling for Bush to be impeached is over the top however, he made choices that many other people would have also made at the time.
we did take out some sick people, this is also true, but yet we managed to create a hotbed for more. its easy for us to say that we should stay but its not you or I that is out there risking their lives in Iraq while the Iraq people fail to stand up for themselves.

this question on Iraq is tearing THIS nation apart. As a people, we need to hash this out and come up with ideas before things HERE get worse. All this in fighting and ridicule most be contained and changed into an intelligent conversation on what we can do to get our people home as quickly as possible without leaving a huge mess for someone else to clean up.

Well that makes one of you!
I love my country but I think this gov, the way they run things, well are just way out there. This country should look in a mirror before we try to force our beliefs down the throats of outher countriies.
First lets take care of our own people first before we try to SAVE the world. Most of the world hates the U.S.A.This country is in a world of hurt and as the ole saying goes "going to hell in a hand basket" I am from WI and in my 48 years I can not remember ever being so strapped and having such a ruff time making a living in fact because of this gov I am fall behind financialy. This gov needs to start making good choices, I am not sure what the whole story is, I dont think the public people have a clue, we only hear what they tell us.But if you ran a bussiness as bad as this gov runs this country you would not be in bussiness unless you got away with doing something ileagel. Think about that one

Not true, the last inspections of Iraq conducted by the UN were allowed full access to the country. Apparently this wasn't good enough for us.

The Republican party used to stand for great ideals. Limited government and financial restraint. Now the primary goals of the Pubs is helping the Religious Right, Pork, tax breaks for the rich and unlimited government spending.

intresting thing, the whole world understands differently, half off american people understand differently, and even some republicans say they have been misinformed, so its all right just to listen to what dubya is saying that one day we will find weapons in Iraq,,,, go ahead,,, Iraq is such a succes lets party,,, Mission accomplished,,,,, dont forget to bring the video tapes that Cheney displayed at the UN headquarters from the fire trucks saying that this is IT

I am a Democrat and I dislike Bush because he is WRONG not because he's a Republican. I would definently vote for a Republic if their politcal views made sense.

This is only for Pfo -

If your a drug lord and the police come by for seven months saying they need to look in your house and you refuse for seven months but then one day you just let them in, are they going to find drugs? No...because you moved them.

Don't give us that crap about "they were allowed in" when for seven months they were restricted with prejudice. Saddam moved his stash, then let them in.

It's ignorance like yours that supports the enemy.
