Tom Thumbs are more effective harsh than a regularly occurring lower. that is because to boot to the leverage of the lower, the jointed mouthpiece supplies you the nutcracker impression that snaffles may reason. The Tom Thumb IS a lower bit because it has leverage, which will develop because the length of the shank will develop. in my opinion I dislike Tom Thumb bits and can want to somewhat use a regularly occurring lower for the experienced horse or snaffle for the more youthful horse.
