Absolutely, that's when I want to feed it to the alley cat outside my window! Try removing the track ball in the center of the mouse and scrubbing it with soap and water. That usually does the trip for me.

clean it, take the back off, take the ball out and pick the dirt off the spinning thingies

i usually end up beating it on the desk but that never really seems to help either.
