I want to write a pirate book (for fun- not published) and the two main characters are bro and sis, but the bro got captured by pirates when he was young, and the girls` parents died, and I need some good ideas, of how and why she got on the ship, and some problems she runs into, with her brother, on the ship. and, if you have any other suggestions for books, or ideas for this book, they are all apreciated.
The brothers name is Jacob, and I need a girls` name (older name- in older days) Or, if you have some suggestions for guys` name- go ahead.

Welcome to my world. Ok, here are some ideas.
1. Set the book in the Golden Age.
2. The girl (I"m partial to Rachael) could be traveling for a new life, from Englant to America, visa versa, to a plantation in the Bahamas...
3. There has to be a way for her to recognize her brother, some mark or something..

How about an evil guardian for the girl?He sells the girl as a slave to the pirate captain.Or let the girl be a stowaway who hides from the evil guardian.
I loved Captain Blood,Sea hawk by Rafael Sabatini.Captain Blood was about a doctor who was unjustly convicted to slavery and later became a pirate.You can get the free e-book from Project Gutenberg.The Corsair by Chris Bunch is also a good pirate book.

Here is whatever: have the pirates sail into this vortex within the ocean that no person knew approximately. I live in Wilmington NC and this city was founded by pirates. A city just north of us called Topsail is named after pirates. Ships would always look to try and see the tops of the sails of hiding pirate ships. Hence "Topsail". You should have her get on the ship by chance after being attacked by a pirate ship and then spared! But if you want some pirate tales look up Wilmington and Topsail and see what kink of links you can find. Sounds fun!

Its ur book so u should write what inspires u most, what story excites u the most, it should be ur fantasies and I would even say ur names, srry for no suggestions but this is the only suggestion is believe I should give you
