There used to be a band back in the 80's called XYZ. Their idea was that there was never any tapes/CD's in the XYZ section, so they aimed to fill that void.

For x...not rock but there are 2 punk bands...XTC and X-RAY SPEX
For Z you can't forget ZZTOP and also Frank Zappa.
