I HAVE A 2005 IMPALA AND I LOVE IT

i would go or both cars but prefer the 96 Impala. it is the interseptor of that just renamed. lods of hop-up parts that are somewhat inexpencive and lots of support almost anywhere if you need help. the mararder is also a bad *** car plus you get the intimedation (sp) facter, looks like a cop at night. (I love that, scares the crap out of people on the road)

Mercury tried to revive the big body sports car but it just fell short when in compaired to the 94-96 impala, mostly in the speed department. from what i read, the merc has no of the line acceleration, only when it gets around 3000 to 3500 RPMs the power kicks in and surpasses the impala. by that time the impala will be hard to catch. and the top end speed for the impala is faster.
unless you go with the marauder VT

But really, its a choice of preffrence because there both bad *** in there own way.

Check out some videos of the cars in action on youtube.com. it may make your choice easier......or not

I would go for the '03 Mercury Mararder, but I am a Ford man. I owned a 1980 Mercury Monarch, that I bought used in the 90's. It had a 6 cyl, 250 cu in, motor and over 200,000 mi. She was heavy but so incredibly dependable. My guess is that since the Mararder, Crown Victoria, the Custom 500, and Fairlane 500 have a common history. I have had good luck with the 1973 Ford Custom 500 which had a Windsor 8 cyl, 351 cu in, and the 1979 Ford LTD II which had a 8 cyl, 302 cu in, and my brother had a 1979 Thunderbird with the same 302, but my sister owned a 1977 Thunderbird that had the 8 cyl, 400 cu in.

For there size there pretty quick. The Ford well it's a Ford. I think Hemming compared the two cars I believe as should be expected the Chevy was the better car.

It can be if you get one that has the "cop" package. The sport models are pretty quick but as with any car there are shitty slow versions and really cool fast versions. It just depends on how it was built at the factory and what, if any, aftermarket modifications have been made.

Yes, very!!!!!!!!!!! Can add more power to these things as well with a programming package and an intake kit. The Impala for sure.

They are lt-1 powered and fairly quick. Pretty nice road hauler, I would prefer over any ford, even with the strange optispark setup. Same engine as the vettes and Z's that year.
