Hardly anyone can live without a cpu/notebook and internet now because it is becoming the main mode of communication.
Could I personally? Maybe: if I had a work computer for the day, I'd just use my sidekick in the evening.

If i had to live without it permanently, mylife would be destroyed.
Even if my entire apartement block was burnt to the ground, and my data was saved, that would be better than my data being destroyed and my home not being burnt to the ground!
However, recenly i had to go without for 3 days when my power pack broke, and i was suprised how well i actually coped! Although that was just a temporary thing and i knew my data was safe of course.
They should bring in laws to stop law enforcement taking peoples computers away aswell even without proof of any crime being permitted. It makes me sick that they have the power. If thay have to take it, they should legally have to return it within a few days.

I lived without for many years so I suppose I can, at home I have two laptops and a desktop, so should never have to go without again.
I think I would feel lost without one if I was denied access, same goes for my mobile phone.......
Sad git am I not?

Only in an emergency situation, like death in the family or loss of power. I have my cell phone to read the jokes people email me. I would go nuts without the ability to access eBay for an extended period of time

i am typing on my new Toshiba laptop i got for Christmas, and i love using it to much to ever even thin about giving it up! i use it for reports, essays, and watching DVDs in the car if i don't use my portable DVD player, among other things. technology really has become a huge part of our lives, and i couldn't live without a computer for more than a day or two....

Nope, I am quite addicted to my computer. Once the kids are in bed every night, I do a little surfing.
When my mother comes to visit, she stays in the spare room with the computer, so my surfing has to stop (she is quite old and goes to sleep when my kids do). That is tough to endure!

I could live the rest of my life without one. I'd settle for doing my writing on a pad of paper with a pen, which is usually how my first drafts come alive in the first place.
