She's got to change the locks or if she has a landlord it's his/her responsilibilty. In rented accommodation nobody knows how many copies of the keys there are or who has them

Anyone can take an impression of a key with clay, and then duplicate it. If her house key was on the same key ring as her car key and she gave it up anywhere (mechanic, valet parking...etc) the key could be copied. If her key is at her mom's and just hanging there in the open anyone with access to her mom's house could copy it as well. Could very well just be a skilled lockpick too. She should install a light with a motion sensor to light porch as anyone approaches. Also, report to police would be good. She's secure with two other locks, but i understand the peace of mind thing. she could rig a cheap webcam (with motion sensor) to record activity at the door as well.
Hope this helps!

If she's renting it could be an old tenant has a copy of the key, if there is a super, well let's not entertain the idea, her best bet would be to get the locks changed, until then shove something heavy in front of it. Also check if there's something the police may be able to suggest.

Tell her to keep a baseball bat with nails through it at her bedside.
That'll learn 'em if they try to get in!!
