That's a good question. I'm not sure if they've established where he'll pitch in the rotation, but I've heard him rumored to be both the second and third starter. I would assume that as a way to ease him into the American game, they'll probably put him in the 3-slot behind Schilling and Beckett.

Assuming the Sox finalize the JD Drew contract, Boston will have an explosive offense and an improved defense as well. I guess I'd predict him to come up with something like 12-15 wins this season, based on the little I actually saw him pitch in the World Baseball Classic last year and based on average stats for a number three starter.

Now, if the Sox sign Clemens...all bets are off!

He's not going to be the #1 starter unless he does really good in the first half. I say it's realistic that he's gonna win about 15. He might strikeout 150-190. I think all of us are hoping he's gonna win 23-25 games and strikeout 200+ players but I really don't think that's gonna happen.

Nobody has a clue, but just for speculation purposes he's more Nomo than Irabu, without the funky delivery.

Gyro ball aside, it will take hitters time to get film on him and study his tendencies.

I'll bet he makes a strong push early on for ROY, and comes away with 15-17 wins. His ERA will probably sit in the mid 3s...

I think Georgie should get best answer, for managing to use a number sarcastically - that was good.

Realistically, I'd guess he ends up with 16. I think it will take some time for hitters to adjust to him, which should give him an advantage especially early in the season.

10 wins and the Redsox will come in third in the division again. The Yanks will go on to win it all.
