Why do you do it?----do you get a thrill from the attention? you must like being stared at by people who will zero in for a closer look---and you will get hit on by both sexes---the nudie will get extra attention because she thiks she's hot and probably is--so what is your reason for wearing a thong or nothing at all at a public beach?

Typical mistaken perception of why we go nude at a beach. We do it because it's a natural and very enjoyable way to have a day at the beach. We do it because it's great to feel the warm sun, cool breeze and water all over our bare skin. We do it because we absolutely hate tan lines. We do it because the beach is a great place to get naked in a sensual but non-sexual situation.
We're not looking for thrills, attention, stares or for guys to perv on us. If we wanted that we'd walk naked down a public street at high noon.
Since we've chosen to be naked in a public (although very appropriate) place we obviously feel good about our body and don't mind people looking at it.
Too bad that some guys get so over the top and juvenile about something as simple as a naked female body. Last time I looked, nudity was just bare skin...and we've all got it!
One last thing: the comment made above about our behavior causing rapes is both ridiculous and so insulting as to be beyond belief. We get topless, wear thongs or get naked in an appropriate place...and that's a green light for out of control guys to rape us! Gimme a break! Some people will never be able to see that nudity and sexuality aren't inextricably linked. The same people who make these ridiculous comments are the ones who drool over Playboy and internet porn.

Why do people prefer to be nude in their own homes or yards? They feel more comfortable that way, and that is what matters.
If a girl goes topless or nude in a permitted place, then it does not mean that she is craving for attention to her body by all and sundry - she is beyond such thoughts. She is simply enjoying the freedom being nude gives her. Most likely there would be other people out there-of both sexes-who are like her, and beyond a cursory glance, there would be no second look. These places do allow nudism and so it is a natural thing to be nude there, for anyone who visits them.
It is when one goes scantily dressed or gets topless or nude in a place where people are generally seen clothed, that there is a possibility of deliberate intent to invite a sexual angle to nudity. This stimulates undesirable activities in people including rape.
If nudity becomes accepted and common, it is most likely that it would cease to be an attraction. It is human nature that when something is kept secret or hidden, there is a greater desire to see or explore it, and I think this applies to nudity too.
You would also observe that it is just not young girls who go topless or nude. There would be lots of older people, those with not so attractive bodies, both men and women, found in such 'public places'. Do you think they would go without clothes just to attract others?
Maybe you should first go to a clothing optional beach, see for yourself, and experiment with nudism yourself. You would then become a votary of nudism! Nudism is a great feeling.

Uh, THEY didn't chase those people away, the people left. That's their right. I gather it was a tourist place, so "when in Rome" doesn't really apply. It's in the best interest of locals that visitors do what they want, so they'll come back leaving the big bucks behind them. If what they did upset the locals, someone would have asked them to cover up. Thus, it was acceptable to the locals. So, the "live and let live" part was right. The people who ran away because they had small children were silly. Small children simply don't care. But that reminds me of a thing I read in The Onion (online satirical newspaper). It was a year after the Janet Jackson breast thing. They were doing a follow-up about how traumatized American children had been by the horror of that event. (It was hilarious, as the tone was very serious, but what they were saying was completely absurd.) It was all about how scarred, possibly for life, young children had been by having had a glimpse of a woman's breast. Someone in the article remarked how odd it was that it seemed to only have effected American children....

I swim topless, and occasionally nude, in my backyard pool. It is secluded so that unless you are in the pool area you cannot see me. I swim topless when I have friends over, both male and female. I don't do it for attention. I do it bc I like the feeling of the sun on my chest and I like having no tan lines on my chest.
Our society in general and the nedia in particular have a lot to answer for. They have brainwashed us into believing:
(a) women have to dress skimpy to be sexy
(b) women are only worthwhile if they look sexy
Both of which are crap!! Men need to learn to respect women and luv us for who we are not what we wear or how much skin we show. And rape is wrong. It is not the women's fault, and it actually has little or nothing to do with sex. Rape is all about inadequate, little men exercising power over women in an attempt to compensate for their own shortcomings.
So next time you see a woman at the beach or wherever, who you think is dressed in skimpy attire (whether that's bikni, topless, nude, or just a mini skirt or sexy top) admire her, be proud that she feels safe and strong enough to wear what she is wearing in your area (for there are some parts of the world where she would be murdered for doing so!) and respect her for the beautiful person she is.
