I never had much of a problem with spy-ware on my previous computer, then I got a My Space account and my computer started running slowly, and I had hi-jackers and spy ware and it was impossible to get rid of them, even with recommended programs, I tried everything. Does anyone know if My Space can cause these problems?

Any web-site has the potential to infect your computer, not only MySpace.
If you keep your Windows fully patched and updated with all critical updates from Windows Updates EVERY month, the chances of a web-site infecting your computer without some user intervention will be quite small.
Check daily for updates for your anti-spyware and anti-virus apps too, and your computer should almost never get infected.
And never disable that firewall for even a minute!

Any website can give you spy-ware or ad-ware.

Most profiles, but not all, can be unsafe. You just have to be very careful and make sure your computer is protected
