I think there was a very real possibility that would have happened. I even heard the sheriff saying that his kidnapper may have been responsible for another kidnapping before Shawn. If so, I doubt the boy is alive and that Shawn was his replacement.

I've wondered the same thing since now they think he may have been involved in another kidnapping for a boy that was never found. Thank God they were both found and fortunately Ben only spent 4 days there. I can only imagine what Shawn's life was like for those 4 years.

Yes. We should also consider Shawn may have witnessed or even worse made to participate in the death of the other child. This may also explain part of his fear and obedience to this man/animal.
In spite of issues Shawn will need to overcome (learn to cope with)....he is a very lucky boy to have been found alive.

probably so.what a story,they should call Ben Isaiah,for a little child led him home.That Shawn is handsome and that Ben has the most beautiful smile .That kid looks happy and hopefully untouched.

Yes, I think he would eventually be killed because his captor could not keep him much longer as he was getting older and he could not let him go free, of course.
