Use the brown eyeliner, and line only half your eye (this will make your eye look more balanced and open. Blend VERY well- this step is key! Once you're done, line the inside rim of your lower eye with a white pencil. This will make your eye look larger and more open.

Wow I have the same problem, I love how eye-liner looks on other people, but on me, not so good! Maybe you should skip putting eye-liner on your bottom lash line, and just put it on top. Right now I like a Metallic peachy-taupe color of eyeshadow with a deep purple eye-liner over 3/4 of my TOP lashline, starting from the outside then 2 coats of black Loreal Luminous mascara ~ THE best mascar ever! It is a grey tube with a gold lid or the H20-proof one is all gold.
Also if you go to a mak-up counter, in a department stre they will do all your makeup for free if you buy something (like a 8 doller eyeline, i knoW thats $$$ but free makeup lesson!). Please look up this on the net. it's totally woth it Good luck

Oh Yes! Throw all of your eyeliner pencils in the trash! After 30, we shouldn't be using them anyway. They pull on the delicate skin around our eyes and exaggerate wrinkles. Get a thin eyeliner brush. My favorite one is make by Aveda and has a thin angled brush on one end and an eyebrow shaper brush on the other. Instead of using a dark pencil, use a soft brown shadow. It doesn't have to be dark to give you definition. Use it ONLY on the bottom. (I sometimes like to put it around the top of my eyes, but for a fresh everyday look, just the bottom.) that will prevent the washed out look from not using anything, but if you find the right color that's not too dark, you won't go old either. I have a favorite color, but I am fair complected and blue eyes. I like the Bare Minerals Cashmere color. It's not too dark but dark enough to add definition, and it matches my eyebrows too. I use it for both. That's a good rule of thumb- if you find a color that's matching to your complexion and hair color to the point that you could use it on your eyebrows, it's the right color for your liner too.

Use eyeliner on the top of your eyelid only...normally eyeliner makes you look younger. I dont know why it makes you look older. Do not make it real thick, make it thin, only line very close to the eyelid only. Smudge it in to make it a little thicker than a line. Use an eye lash curler and use very good mascarra. What color are your eyes and hair? If you have light hair, use a brown mascarra, use black if you have dark hair. If you really don't want to use eyeliner, try just lining a little smudge on the outside corners of your eyes only, it will make them appear larger.

Hmm, don't use eyeliner then, just use a mascara and eyeshadow. Im sure it wont look too plain. And i don't see how this has anything to do with looking younger, but if you do then go on a diet, workout, get plenty of sleep and a cool hot wardrobe. Face creams are good too, and a nice hairstyle.

Use mascara only in the upper eyelids (you can get the XXL maybelline one.... it really looks great). Wear a little white eyeliner (the pencil one) in the internal part of your eyelids bottom (it would make your eyes look brighter) and do not wear red or pink blush on... just wear Bronzer. Try it on http://makeovers.ivillage.com/ you can sign in for free and upload your own picture and play with it....
I'm 33 years old and everybody says that I look about 25 Years old!!!!

How are you applying the eyeliner? If you are applying it to thick then this is probably the reason you get this result. And if not just try a lighter shade and only one line; not very thick! Good Luck!

Appearance is very important, it is the first thing you notice when you meet someone. As you grow older the body starts to let you down, but there are a few things that you can do. Some ideas are very simple, while others need a bit of work but they can all help to turn back the clock and make you look younger.
1. Standing up straight is one of the best ways to look younger and more confident. Standing straight, with shoulders back and down with your tummy pulled in. At first you will need to practice and check yourself that you are standing up straight but soon it will become second nature. Doing exercises to strengthen your tummy muscles will also help.
2. Having enough sleep, at least 7 to 8 hours a night will make you feel healthier and younger. Your body needs sleep so that it can repair your body cells and refresh you mind.
3. Smiling makes you look radiant and younger. Smiling also distracts from areas that show your age. A smile just changes your whole face, try standing in front of a mirror and see what smile can do for your face.
4. Just because you are older does not necessarily mean that you have to have a short haircut. It all depends on the shape of your face, a short hairstyle can be cut to flatter and frame your face. This can be great to draw attention away from signs of ageing. Though longer hairstyles can be just as flattering as long as you have a good haircut that is shaped and maybe layered. A good hairdresser should be able to advise on the best way to cut your hair, as it does not just depend on the shape of your face but also on the texture and volume of your hair.
5. Colouring your hair is also a great way to hide the tale tell grey hairs. It is best to choose a colour that is close to your original colour so that it naturally compliments your facial tones. Otherwise you can have high lights or low lights put into your hair, and these do not require re-doing as frequently as an all over colour.
6. Choose the right clothes to compliment your body and hide the areas that you do not like. For example if you have flabby arms you can wear three quarter length sleeves to hide them. Soft colours will help you look younger because your skin tones become greyer as you get older.
7. Keep your teeth clean, with brushing and flossing, and with regular visits to the dentist to have your teeth checked. Getting teeth cleaned to prevent plague build up can also save you losing teeth unnecessarily. If your teeth are discoloured, the dentist might suggest whitening them, so that you will be happy to smile and show off your teeth.
8. Losing weight can also help you look younger. Make sure that as you lose weight that you tone your body with aerobic and resistance exercises.
9. Make-up can also help as long as you do not cake it on. Use a light foundation that does not sink into the wrinkles and emphasis them is better than a heavier one that does. Be careful about which eyeshadows to use, cream ones will sink into your wrinkles.
10. Look after your skin. Do not clean your face with soap and water but with a proper cleanser so that it dissolves all the make-up on the face and cleanses it properly. Always make sure that you remove your make-up every night as one night leaving it on can age your skin eight days. After cleaning your skin make sure that you moisture it so that it keeps your skin hydrated and younger looking.
With the aids that have been shown above on how to look younger, start today by choosing a couple of ideas, implement them and watch the changes in your appearance.
if you need to put make up ......you must know this information:
* Wearing too much makeup can actually add years to your face. Instead of attempting to hide your age under a mask of products, learn to enhance your features with the right application techniques.
* Though face powder has likely been a staple of your makeup bag for years, it's time to say goodbye. Powder tends to settle into creases and makes wrinkles appear more prominent. Stick to using a light foundation for sheer coverage.
* Your skin tone does not stay constant as you age, so the foundation that you've been using for 20 years may no longer be right for you. Head to the cosmetics counter to find the color that most closely matches your skin tone today.
* Dingy, tired-looking eyes will rob you of your youthful look. Give your eyes an instant pop with eyedrops that are specially formulated to whiten and brighten.
* Just as the hair on your head thins as you age, so, too, do your eyelashes. To play up your peepers, shape your lashes with an eyelash curler, then apply blackish-brown or brown mascara.
* A well-groomed eyebrow gives your entire face more definition, and also gives the illusion of lifted eyelids -- drawing attention away from any sagging skin.
* 'Fess up if you're guilty of sweeping that blush in a straight line from your cheek to your temple. While that technique was all the rage in the '80s, get with the times and start applying your blush in the center of your cheekbone, focusing on the apple of your cheek, and blending in the color for a natural look.
* You may have noticed that over the years, tiny wrinkles have developed around your mouth. To prevent your lipstick from "bleeding" into these fine lines, use a lip pencil to create a barrier that keeps your lip color where it belongs: on your lips only.
* If you've been devoted to the same color palette for years, your makeup choices may seem dated. At the same time, an over-40 woman shouldn't fall victim to the latest fads. To get perspective -- and a modern look that works for you -- schedule a professional makeup application.
and you must know for your age you must put make not alots because you will bigger in the age.......trust me
