Yes.
I would love to stay at home with my children but it isn't possible due to being the only adult now in the home.
If someone found a way for all women to be homemakers and pay us to do so, then by all means sign me up. If I can't maintain our lifestyle with this, then, I'd have to pass.

I highly doubt it... Especially those with kids... I hear day after day how parents can't wait for school vacation to be over with so their kids will go back to school. I have come to realize that many parents don't really like their children or certainly don't care to spend any amount of time with them.
If they would do the math completely they would realize that they could stay home. They just simply choose not to. They would get bored ! I have seen it first hand in people I know.
Sad huh ?!!

Yes, I do. I chose to stay home when I had my child, and I love it, and now that she's in school I still don't want her going to day care afterwards. If my husband weren't in the military we probably couldn't do it, since we don't have to pay for housing and insurance But we do have to sacrifice as far as money goes, it would be nice if stay at home Mom's got a little something per month, even $300 a month we could put aside in a savings account. But in reality that would probably raise taxes, especially since so many people are completely reliant on the wel-fare system as it is. I would never want to rely on wel-fare. The US is actually behind many countries in making it easier for Mom's to stay at home with their kids. Germany lets new Mom's take up to 3 years of maternity leave and still have their job when/if they decide to return! I wish the US granted longer maternity leaves, and that more companies would offer on-site child care.

Yes, quite a few but not all of them. There are still lots of women out there who want to be professionally successful and raise a family as well.

In Italy, housewives are paid a stipend by the state, in recognition of the fact that this is some of the most important work in society.
We are fairly backward in this regard here in the States.
However we do pay sport idols hundreds of billions of dollars... (;?)

yes, the ones with families I believe they would opt to be with home with them. The ones that are married with no children would probably rather be at least working part time, even if they didn't exactly need the money...just so they feel fulfilled.

Of course. What mother wouldn't want to spend more time raising their children?
