I say it and I'm a man. Annoys me to find two pints of milk open in fridge. Use the first before opening the second fgs.

Maybe it has something to do with the fact that some fool opens a pint, when one is already open.
The fact that this problem seems to "follow" you around would seem to suggest that you are a common factor, and therefore, if they all need to ask they are not too bright.
The Answer is simple: You open the other pint, because you are a cretin...

My stepdad does that. We get an expensive lactose-free milk (Lactaid) that can stay in the fridge much longer than regular milk, but he likes to make sure that we don't open one before the other is used. He and I both have that with a few things, but Mom can't tolerate milk of any kind.
Use the open one first and that way, the other one will stay fresher longer. You'll save money that way and not risk getting ill.

They may have more sense because...
Two pints of milk open mean the milk won't last/stay fresh as long, compared to having one bottle open first, and then opening the second bottle when the first is finished.

They are pointing out how trifling it is for you men to open another carton without bothering to check and/or empty the other open one.

Women (for the most part) tend to be very logical and are good inventory keepers and organizers. Opening same items at one time is wasteful. Look at expiration dates and use the product with the earliest expiration date first.

the only reason why no one in my family does it is because we use one pint of milk first before we open another one it is just common sense
